The Squadron Sponsoring Committee (SSC) represents the civilian side of the Air Cadet Program. They work alongside the Canadian Forces and the Air Cadet League of Canada to support the 250 Vimy Squadron and its Commanding Officer Maj Hargreaves.
The SSC is the local representative of the Air Cadet League of Canada. The 250 SSC is composed of interested parents (of current and former cadets) and other adult community members.
SSC membership is decided on a yearly basis through an election held in the fall for the training year.
The SSC works in partnership with the Squadron staff (Officers and Civilian Instructors) to support the local training program in order to achieve the three goals of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets, which are to develop leadership and good citizens, to promote physical fitness, and to stimulate an interest in the Canadian Forces.
The Current Committee Executive:
250 Vimy Squadron Director: Belinda Naugler Adams
Region Director: Serge De-Serres
The SSC is the child of parent group Nova Scotia Provincial Committee (NSPC). You may read more about the NSPC at their website: https://aircadetleaguens.com/
To join the SSC, applicants must undergo a screening process, including a Vulnerable Sector Screening and Police Check, and must agree to comply with the League’s regulations.
